The Baan Din ‘Earth House‘ Team is a group of people who have been spreading earthen building all over the country of Thailand since their first training with Kleiwerks International in 2002. There are now two Baan Din groups. One only does volunteer work, teaching workshops on earthen building all over the country. The other group runs a ‘fair business’, contracting earthen building for pay while employing villagers who have a background in earthen building to do the construction. They use the profit to support activist organizations in Thailand. As of 2010, the Baan Din Team has built over 400 earthen buildings across the nation. They work for villager and farmer groups, NGOs, and private clients, and have taught many more.
