Whew! Our week of timber-framing was a whirlwind. This week was a short one with some built-in recovery. The rafters went up, the insulating layer on the cob oven was completed and we took a road trip (complete with Ice Cream from Piggy’s) to Asheville to pick up the beautiful slate which we purchased with a generation donation from Olde World Masters (http://oldeworldmasters.com/). Our friend Charles let us borrow his ’75 F350 flatbed – we named her Ruby Bessie Betsy.
