Asheville-based non-profit, Kleiwerks International, is hosting an exciting one-night fundraiser with Starhawk, author, activist, and one of the most respected voices in modern earth-based spirituality. At this critical juncture in Asheville’s growth, our community is fortunate to have this rare opportunity for hundreds of us to gather, envisioning and activating our city’s future.

Starhawk and Janell Kapoor (of Kleiwerks International) will:

• Guide and channel our collective visions toward a society that serves life and honors diversity
• Present images and stories of sustainable solutions from around the world
• Share action-oriented tools to implement change
• Facilitate a collective ritual to ground our work
• Together, we will explore magical, spiritual and political tools to break through the veils, to honor our passion, to hold our ground, to gather support, and to make our visions real.

Book signing, networking, raffle/auction, and catered snacks will also be part of the evening. Funds raised support Kleiwerks International, an Asheville headquartered non-profit dedicated to empowering communities through natural building and whole-systems solutions. Projects include the Ashevillage Building Convergence ’08; an urban permaculture demonstration center; ongoing international projects that create on-the-ground examples of sustainability, peace and justice.

Starhawk, global justice activist, organizer and one of the most respected voices in modern earth-based spirituality, is author or coauthor of ten books, including The Spiral Dance, The Fifth Sacred Thing and the award-winning Webs of Power: Notes from the Global Uprising. Her latest is Earth Path: Grounding Your Spirit in the Rhythms of Nature. Starhawk is a veteran of progressive movements, and deeply committed to bringing the techniques and creative power of spirituality to political activism.
