Kleiwerks Practicum: A 10 week immersion in the world of Natural Building. New Mexico, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. July 3rd - September 13th, 2003

The Kleiwerks Practicum was an intensive 10-week program designed to support individuals who were seriously interested in working within the Natural Building and sustainable living movement. A group of 7 interns worked closely with one another, with Janell Kapoor, founder and director of Kleiwerks International, and with other specialists in the field. Our small group travelled together, developing skills on a number of fronts including: hands-on building, designing, networking, events organizing, teaching, presenting, facilitating and more. During the ten weeks the group participated in Natural Building gatherings, trainings and projects; visited communities and different earthen structures; met and worked with other builders, designers, organizers, visionaries and community leaders.

The intentions of this Practicum were to offer a comprehensive, in-depth experience to individuals who wanted to become more actively involved within the world of Natural Building, as well as to develop and work with a cohesive and dedicated team on ongoing collaborations.
